FEATURES:
- Full Function In Circuit Emulator (ICE) for 7810/11.
- Low power CMOS design.
- Comprehensive on-card firmware Debugger/Monitor.
- Low cost.
- Serial interface to IBM/PC development system.
DESCRIPTION:
The EM7811 is a powerful In Circuit Emulator (ICE) for the NEC uPD78C10/11 family of single chip microcomputers. It consists of a small (3" x 6") PCB complete with power supply, 78C10, RAM, ROM, support logic and UART for terminal communications. The unit connects to the IBM/PC development system via an RS-232 cable and has jumper selectable baud rates from 300 to 9600.
The on-card firmware monitor (NED) offers the following features:
The EM7811 connects to the target system via two flat ribbon cables (each 34 conductors). The connection at the target system can be made via a small plug-in board which plugs into the target's 7810 Quad In-Line (QUIL) socket or via header connectors designed into the target system to accept the ribbon cable.
- HEX File Transfer to/from IBM/PC
- Memory data substitute, move, compare, fill
- Real time execution with 2 Breakpoints
- Trace execution and display of registers
- Register examination and modify
- Port examination and modify
- Disassembly listing of object code in Mnemonics
- In-line assembly from mnemonics to object code
- Help Menu
The EM7811 has also been designed to operate as a stand-alone unit which makes it suitable for use as the target system in an application. In this case, the ribbon cables serve to bring the input/output to the processor.
