FILE RECOVERY:

*****    LOST & FOUND is inexpensive, works correctly even when FAT or MBR are corrupted and has has excellent support. Our rating for this product is excellent. (http://www.powerquest.com)

*            RECOVER98 is over-priced, does not work if the FAT or MBR is corrupted and has no return policy. Our rating for this product is unsatisfactory. With a corrupted MBR, this program would not even operate. This was originally a $17 shareware program, called REVIVAL, that is now being sold by LC-TECH as RECOVER98 for over $250.  In our opinion, this is a complete rip-off, value for money. Other products from this company should be considered as suspect. (http://www.lc-tech.com)

FILE BACK-UP:

*****    LFN (Long File Name) is shareware, completes backup of files even when FAT is corrupted. Our rating for this product is excellent. (http://odi.webjump.com)

***        DRIVE COPY 3.0, does not complete a backup if the FAT is corrupted or if FAT1 differs from FAT2. Our rating for this product is average. This program only works if there are no errors, but sometimes it is necessary to make a backup as soon as errors have been found so that the remaining information can be preserved while the data is being recovered.
